The minimum saturated suction temperature of the conventional single stage screw compressor is -40~-50 °C. If you want evaporate temperature at -60~-65°C，，，，you need multi unit of single stage compressors. Meanwhile, the high pressure ratio working condition brings problems such as excessive leakage and high discharge temperature during compression, which results in low reliability and low efficiency for the single-stage compressor operating in such harsh conditions.
While the compound two-stage compressor well solves above problems. Compared to the two-stage compressors and multi unit of single stage compressors, the compound two-stage compressors occupy less space and the system is easy to control, so it's more efficiency and reliable.
